Rice plantation creating greenhouse gases Print E-mail
Rice
plantation creating greenhouse gases is a big problem. On average they
are producing between 50 and 100 million tons of methane a year.
Methane is a greenhouse gas that plays a huge role in global warming.
Rice is an important source of food that is produced all around the
world. In order to grow rice the soil must be completely waterlogged
and warm, and it's these conditions that methanogenesis is present and
released into the air. The good news is that there is only 4 months out
of the year that this soil is waterlogged. It's a scary thought to know
just how much more greenhouse gases it would produce yearly if it
waterlogged soil was all year around. Rice plantation creating
greenhouse gases is a serious problem, and depending on where the
plantation is located the emissions can vary vastly. This is due to the
different temperatures, and other factors such as the how deep the
water is and how long the rice paddy soil is waterlogged. The warmer
the temperature the more methane gas will be released into the air.
Global warming is a serious problem, and there are high amounts of
greenhouse gases being produced on a daily basis. If this continues
that rice plantation creating greenhouse gases won't exist nor will
anything else. Things have already begun to change due to the climate
change. And they will continue to worsen the warmer it becomes. There
are many health risks surrounding this problem as well. The warmer
climates will mean more infections disease, such as malaria. These rice
plantation creating greenhouse gases need to stop just like we need to
stop the things that we do that creates greenhouse gases as well.
It's important that we all understand that we are required as humans
living on earth to do our part. There are going to be some sacrifices
that we will need to make in order to reduce the amounts of greenhouse
gases that we produce. The rice plantations, factories, and many others
are not
the only ones to blame. We all play a huge role in this problem. Our
homes alone produce large enough quantities of carbon dioxide, then our
luxurious cars and everything else that goes along with living.
You must learn the things that you need to begin implementing into your
life to play a role in saving the earth. It's not hard nor is it
expensive, but it is certainly important. Going green is definitely
something that we all need to do, and it's slowly beginning to increase
with popularity due to the tv programs and commercials.
