Greenhouse gases is not a new topic, and it's definitely not going to be a forgotten one either. There has been a great increase of people trying to do their part to reduce the amount of greenhouse gases that is causing global warming. I know that not everyone believes that human activities is the reason for this problem, but I can assure you that it's most certainly playing a role in the speed at which it is occurring. This has been one of the biggest debates - many people don't believe that we have anything to do with this climate change, and others believe that we are the direct cause of it. The fact is that maybe we didn't cause it, but we are not helping it. These greenhouse gases are being released into the atmosphere and hovering over the earth. They are not able to find their way into outer space, and the outcome is the temperature is rising on the earth. The name greenhouse effect stems from an actual greenhouse. I am sure that you know how a greenhouse works. It's designed to trap in the heat of the sun to offer the temperature necessary to keep the plants growing. The only difference between a greenhouse and the earth is that you can control the heat in the greenhouse, we cannot control the heat on the earth. So the heat continues to rise, because the greenhouse gases continue to rise. Greenhouse gases are a combination of gases such as carbon dioxide, methane gas, and nitrous oxide. These gases are not something that we would allow our children to play with, but yet they are rising to the atmosphere in alarming rates and they are damaging the environment that we live in. These are all gases that we are producing through various activities from driving cars, building homes, running huge factories, and so much more. I know what you are thinking that there is no way to stop all of these things, and I agree with you. There are so many things that we can do that will minimize the amount that we are producing by changing the things that we do. Car pooling, recycling, buying recycled products, keeping your home heated and cooled at realistic temperatures, reducing the paper waste and I can go on and on. These are simple things that would make a huge difference in the amount of greenhouse gases that we produce. The internet is filled with so many great ways for you to help. Going green is on the rise and with many great reasons the first being the major one because it helps. |
